HPR 3D Skeletal Mapping System
Real-Time Kinect V2 Depth & Skeletal Mapping — Built for Paranormal Investigation
The HPR 3D Skeletal Mapping System was designed to take the powerful depth and body-tracking capabilities of the Microsoft Kinect V2 and put them into a simple, investigator-friendly interface.
Traditional Kinect development software can be complicated, with numerous windows, settings, streams, and tools intended for software developers. HPR's system strips away that complexity and focuses on what paranormal investigators actually want to see.
Connect your Kinect V2 sensor, launch the software, and begin investigating.
Four Real-Time Viewing Modes
COLOR — Standard live camera view with optional skeletal tracking overlay.
IR NIGHT — Uses the Kinect V2's infrared sensor for investigating in dark environments without relying on visible room lighting.
DEPTH — Displays distance information captured by the Kinect's depth sensor using a false-color visualization, making objects and changes in depth easy to distinguish.
3D MAP — Converts live Kinect depth measurements into a real-time 3D visualization of the environment. Walls, furniture, people, and other surfaces within the sensor's usable field can be represented as depth geometry almost immediately as the Kinect scans the area.
Real-Time Skeletal Tracking
The system uses Microsoft Kinect V2 body-tracking data to display skeletal joint positions when the tracking system identifies a human-like body configuration.
Multiple tracked bodies can be displayed simultaneously using different colors, making individual tracking easier to follow.
For paranormal investigation, an unexpected skeletal mapping event may be something an investigator chooses to document and examine further. However, skeletal tracking is algorithmic and can produce false or unusual detections. A skeletal detection by itself should not be considered evidence of a person or paranormal entity.
Built-In Investigation Recording
There's no need to run separate screen-recording software.
Press REC and HPR 3D Skeletal Mapping records the investigation view directly to an MP4 video file, including the skeletal overlay. Audio recording can be turned ON or OFF, and a live microphone activity meter lets you verify that the computer's microphone is receiving sound.
Recordings are automatically saved for later review.
Designed to Be Simple
No complicated developer interface. No need to navigate Kinect Studio during an investigation.
Connect. Launch. Choose a view. Investigate. Record.
The interface provides quick access to View selection, Mirror mode, Fullscreen, Audio, Recording, and saved recordings while keeping the main display clean and easy to monitor in a dark investigation environment.
System Requirements
Designed for use with a Microsoft Kinect V2 / Xbox One Kinect sensor and a compatible Windows PC. A properly connected Kinect V2 sensor and appropriate Kinect hardware connection/adapter are required.
